Sup? Yes, I'm still alive and well (physically, anyway :P). I know it's been a while since I put anything new up. I'm sorry. I just haven't recently plucked up an inspired attitude. For the past couple of months, I've been saying how I need to get back out and do some shooting, whether it's just nature photos or self-portraits or whatever. I mean, I haven't even taken any photos of my cat recently, and there are only so many places the girl can hide. ;P I just haven't been into it as much.

I could blame work, but I won't, because it's not my schedule that's the problem... not really. It's that I've gotten lazy and less confident in my photographic abilities.

However, all of this is going to change when 2014 rolls around. Part of this is due to the fact that I have recently purchased a new lens, gifted to me by myself, wrapped for me by myself, and it shall be placed under the Christmas tree for me by myself. :aww: Fa la la la la la la la la.

Not only is it a new lens... it's a macro lens. A macro lens! EF-S 60mm f/2.8! I didn't go for the cheapest lens this time, because if I've learned anything, it's to save for one that will be a bit better quality than to settle for less just because I can have it sooner. But guys-- Do you even know how much I love macro, no matter how over done most of it is (in this community anyway)? Umm it's kind of a lot. I used to take macros of my eyes all the time with my compact digital camera. But now that I have a real camera with a real macro lens, which can also be used for portraiture, I'm pretty pumped. Needless to say, you can expect me to abuse the postage of eye shots in the near future. And I'd like to try my hand at nature macros, object macros, and so on.

Also, I'm going to take some couple-y photos of emotive-energy and dylan12121 and it's going to be cute and I'll get to practice shooting other people besides myself. I'm excited. I really hope someone buys me a small round reflector for Christmas. If nobody does, I'm going to buy myself one! :D I have a giant one but I guess I didn't think that through. It blows too easily in even light wind, and it's pretty conspicuous and difficult to carry around. So I want a smaller one more for head shots.

Anyway, just thought I'd share my enthusiasm over my own Christmas present. Don't worry, I didn't just treat myself for Christmas. My friends and family are going to be happy, too.

Hahaha, thank you! I really like it so far. Hopefully next year I can continue to build my collection. :)
